Peruvian coffee is among the most misunderstood in the market today. A winner in global coffee exports (8th largest in the world), but a loser in its reputation for specialty coffee. According to many specialty coffee buyers and experts, Perú doesn't have much to offer outside of being a "filler" coffee let alone a difficult coffee to source.
After living and working in these regions for the past six years, we're convinced that world-class coffees can be grown in Perú. Together with our partners in Perú, we are determined to reveal to the smallholder Peruvian farmer what specialty coffee could mean to their livelihoods as well as demonstrate what succeeding with these programs for small farmers in underdeveloped regions of Perú could mean for the world marketplace. Many of these farmers lack the support needed to modify, innovate, improve and produce truly exceptional coffee on their farms.
Reach Trade envisions a world-class, modern grower organization in the Central Highlands and Amazonas of Peru. We enjoy assisting the small producers that have been put up against nearly impossible odds to succeed in coffee or in other sustainable agro-products. We have made it our mission to prove that world-class products with extraordinary value can be grown in perhaps the most unexpected areas: in regions still devastated by inadequate transportation, corrupt business, inept government, drug trafficking, and violence. With a quality- and merit-based support system for these farmers, we can help to mitigate risks that may hold them back or harm their livelihoods.
We encourage you to join us in growing world-class, specialty coffees and cacaos in Perú. Through our work and our products that we'll bring to market, we intend to reveal to you how together we can help communities prosper in even the most challenging regions of the world. Over time, we assure that you too will see how business done right can change everything.
